Showcase: Kati wins ($30,999 in prizes); “Dams” Showcase, Trip to Las Vegas, Nevada and New York, New York, and a Chevy HHR

Viewers in the Central and Eastern time zones saw today’s show for the very first time due to a special news report that aired for the entire hour last Thursday. Before today’s first four contestants were called to come on down, observant viewers noticed at least one seat without an audience member in the middle section of the studio. Patrick, the first of three contestants from Georgia, believed the price of the Trip to Tahiti would be at least $7576 after removing “8” from the series of numbers. After everyone in Contestant’s Row overbid twice on a Chandelier priced $599, Kathleen bid $550 to win her way on stage. Kathleen is so familiar with Plinko that she started dropping chips faster than Bob can describe her situation. Prior to today’s show, Alana of Indiana University was driving a 1978 Volvo. Folks close to Alana can expect to see her in a new Pontiac automobile, courtesy of The Price is Right, Bob’s successful inspiration putt (using his old putter), and our host’s reminder for Alana to stay calm when putting. In Showcase Showdown #1, Kathleen said she wanted 50 cents in her second wheel spin in order to beat Patrick’s first score of 85 cents. Bob told her she wants 60 cents in addition to her 40 to total $1.00. Alana managed to tie Patrick’s 85 cents, but he got a score 10 cents higher in his Spinoff spin. Christopher, a 21-year-old resident of Athens, Georgia, was lucky at the end of today’s Race Game, a game Bob found suitable for him the moment he won his way on stage. Christopher’s second pull of the lever revealed “1”, but that number was quickly changed to “4” (correct prices) just as he was about to change the price tags again. Besides this being his second trip to the show, we also found out from Christopher that his loyalty to the show goes back to the days when he would sit on his sitter’s lap. Today’s Showcase, with two contestants from Georgia, featured oddly named tourist attractions, different types of “dams”, and a Chevy HHR. After Bob took his time to read Patrick’s Showcase difference, Kati was still jumping from the moment the actual price of Patrick’s Showcase was revealed. We end today’s show with Kati and her crew in front of the Chevrolet automobile shortly after her great rush to get into the driver’s seat.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right

Make Your Move: Ericka wins; Ice Cream Maker ($29), Dining Room Table ($930), and Trip to Cancun, Mexico ($3044)

Double Prices: Aaron lost; Piano ($4000)

Showcase Showdown #2: Aaron wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Showcase: Ericka wins ($17,414 in prizes); Bedroom Group, Swimwear, and Hovercraft

After four very competitive bids for a Motorcycle, Ericka made her moves in today’s first Pricing Game without any signs of being unsure. Audience applause was unanimous in the Ohio resident’s choices in Make Your Move, probably because they all, as Ericka put it, “slept together” outside Television City during her 18-hour stay before the show. Sarah successfully removed half the boxes three times in Half Off, leaving only Box #2 and Box #3. The even numbered Box #2 made her $10,000 richer. Jason, bearer of the “Bob for President 2008” shirt, leaves the show just 50 cents shy of $10.00. Ericka and Sarah tied 75 cents in Showcase Showdown #1, with Sarah accepting the Spinoff option. Ericka “hung on” to 75 cents in the Spinoff and was on her way to the Showcase. Patricia’s price of $3.00 on Bottled Water in Check Out caused some negative reaction in the audience, but her price total difference stayed below $2.00. Charles tried to keep his patience on stage, but he just felt the need to say, “Come on!” before the Pontiac automobile was revealed. The Piano featured today would have made a good decorative piece in Aaron’s home, but unfortunately for him (and the chance for a show with 5/6 games won) this was not the day. Aaron’s fortunes rebound in Showcase Showdown $2 with a score of $1.00. Today’s Showcase featured a snitch, an Australian holiday package, and a Hovercraft. Since Ericka all ready won a trip, she passed her Showcase to Aaron. She discussed her Showcase bid with her mother in the audience. The discussion proved to be helpful and Ericka ended this week’s worth of shows by becoming the proud owner of a Hovercraft. Good day!

Showcase Showdown #2: Deborah wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Showcase: Adam wins ($18,901 in prizes); Living Room Group, Books, and Electric Vehicle

University of Florida student Adam, a 27-year (old) viewer of the show, was the first to bid on a clear Kayak, which he won. Unfortunately, he didn’t give much thought to the price of each bicycle featured in Danger Price. The bicycles were $530 each, by the way. After three mistakes, Molly finally chose the “4” as the second number in the price of the Ford truck in Pocket Change. She made no mistakes choosing the next three numbers. Molly’s third envelope contained a $2.00 slip, thus sealing her victory in Pocket Change. As he described Bonus Game, Bob said “this window” twice for the second window he pointed out twice with his finger. This was probably for the sake of clarification. Kimberly did not win the last window in Bonus Game to have control of all four windows, but she would have won anyway with only the second window (which was for a $10 mop). Our host actually used the word “card” for the board numbers and prizes featured in Pass the Buck. William, one of today’s first four contestants, exits Contestant’s Row to play today’s last Pricing Game. His lengthy interaction with the audience before settling with $4995 in Flip Flop was worth the time. We have two $1000 winners in today’s Showcase after they scored a $1.00 in their respective Showcase Showdowns. Today’s Showcase featured Jack the Giant Killer’s mother, a large key, and an Electric Vehicle (no large key included). We end today’s show with Adam reminding viewers on behalf of Bob and himself to help control the pet population. Our announcer Rich congratulated Adam while wearing a white cap.

Showcase Showdown #2: Suzanne wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Showcase: Shawn wins ($28,123 in prizes); Dining Room Group, Cappuccino Machine, and Electric Vehicle

After being asked by fellow contestant Jonathan about his bid before bidding $1500, Jared outbid him by one dollar and won himself a Refrigerator worth more than $2000. Jared’s shirt displayed the words, “Real Men Play Plinko”, which Bob read out live since Plinko was not to be first game to be played. Jared wanted a card with a $2500 margin in Card Game, but $2000 was close. Jared actually got the last card he wanted, an “8”, making his final bid $18,000. Unfortunately, the Chevy automobile was priced above $20,000. Shawn got her advice on the items featured in It’s In the Bag from her two sisters in the audience. Jonathan fulfilled his childhood dream by joining today’s show, where he played Buy or Sell. Once more before Bob’s final show airs on June 15th, viewers got to witness a Showcase Showdown without the sounds of the mechanical beeper as the Big Wheel spins. Substituting for the familiar beeper was the audience, a “musical” bunch they were. Susan pressed, no, hit the Range Game button harder than most contestants. Suzanne only made two mistakes in her first play of One Away, the last two digits. The “0” in the fourth digit position may have been usual, but Suzanne was wise enough to have that number changed to “2”. Our second Jonathan (“I’m surrounded by Jonathans”, Bob said earlier) today was the last contestant to win his way on stage. The mechanical beeper returned for Showcase Showdown #2, but we got hear a few more audience “beeps” during the first spin of the wheel. Today’s Showcase featured an Electric Vehicle, overlooked calendar days, and a Chevy Cobalt. Suzanne had overbid on a Showcase that included a Sailboat and the Chevy automobile, yet they amounted to an actual retail price lower than Shawn’s Showcase. We end today’s show with Shawn and her sisters inside the Electric Vehicle before exiting.

Showcase Showdown #2: Ryan wins with 90 cents

Showcase: Ryan wins ($25,457 in prizes); Shaved Ice Machine, Living Room Group, and Trip to New Zealand

“Gloriosky, Zero!” said Bob “without thinking” about the comic strip Little Annie Rooney before today’s playing of the Check Game. Our host asked if any gray haired members of the audience remember the comic strip, which included the dog Zero. Maria, the new owner of gym equipment worth $2800, had a good idea of Check Game, but her game description did not come out in good clarity. Maria’s odd numbered amount of the check was enough to win an Alaskan holiday, which also had an odd numbered amount. Katie managed to win only key in Master Key after missing the Popcorn Maker’s price of $24, but she was lucky enough to choose a key other than the one that will open nothing. When Karen chose the box of Jelly Belly candy in Grand Game, audience reaction indicated that she made the wrong choice. After Jason made his first moves in Make Your Move, a small voice in the audience urged him to switch the Coffee Maker and Candlestick to their correct prices. When Jason followed Becky’s advice, audience reaction turned negative, causing him to change his mind unfortunately. Tiffany, who was the last one in Contestant’s Row to bid (one dollar) on gym equipment at the beginning of the show, won her way on stage to play for a Dodge automobile. She knew the game, but forgot to say “That’s too much” with authority in her game description. Ryan and his crew in yellow will be enjoying the new Hot Tub together, as Bob predicted. Today’s Showcase featured The Price is Right Train, a Shaved Ice Machine, and a New Zealand holiday package. Karen’s overbid ensured Ryan’s win in today’s Showcase. Following the Showcase of yesterday’s show, Bob mistakenly called Ryan “Brian” before he immediately corrected himself. We end today’s show with Ryan and his crew in yellow on stage.
