viewing today's rerun, when the Marine was playing flip or flop, he chose the first, flip. when bob turned over the price, the first 2 digits matched the flip but not the last 2 digits. appeared that whatever he chose he would have lost. what's up with that? i felt really bad for him, Jacob.

When playing "Flip Flop" you have the option to "flip," "flop," or "flip flop."
To win, Jacob would have needed to turn BOTH panels ("flip flop"). Usually one is pretty easy to get (in this case, making the last two digits $--95) while the other is more of a crapshoot.
But either way, I felt bad too that he missed out on the boat.
