July 3, 2007 -- ESPN's Dan Patrick shot down reports yesterday that he auditioned to host "The Price Is Right."

"They called and wanted to know if I wanted to audition. I said, 'No, I don't want to audition,' " Patrick told listeners on his ESPN Radio show yesterday.

Patrick was responding to reports that he was on "the short list" of candidates to replace Bob Barker, who retired last month after a 35-year run as host of "The Price Is Right."
