“Let’s see if you can make them eat their words”, said Drew after the audience reaction to Stephanie pushing the numbers 9271 into the blue Pushover window. Like other contestants and members of the audience this far, Stephanie was wearing a shirt acknowledging our new host. Allen was lucky with his first bid on a Bubble Chair, as he and his fellow contestants were unfamiliar with this expensive form of seating. The chair also came with some Oreo cookies. Among the small prizes featured in Half Off, now offering a $500 bonus for choosing a half priced item, was the recently published book “Come on Down” by the show’s staff writer and producer Stan Blits. As he has done on every show, Drew mentioned his fellow employees, including Stan. Allen did not have to wait long beside his chosen box to find out it contained no money. “Keep on moving” were Sandra’s words for Drew as she ascended prices either too low or too high for a Chevrolet automobile. As a studio page helped Marie on stage, observant viewers got to see a red eyed CBS logo on the page’s red jacket. Marie didn’t care whether or not she had the right numbers lined up in Line ‘Em Up, as her face suggested while up against Drew’s side. Today’s Showcase featured Home Games, a librarian, and a Chevrolet automobile with a name worth repeating for Marie. We end today’s show with Marie and her crew celebrating in their shirts bearing Drew’s image.
