Some huge news regarding The Price is Right and the direction of the show has come down in recent days. Here's a brief snippet posted by ClockGameJohn on Golden Road:
These are only CONFIRMED changes and do not reflect any rumors or hearsay. Losing Dobkowitz is a fairly major deal for the show, and it will be interesting to say the least how the character of the show is affected by his dismissal. More to follow in the coming days.
- Season 37 will proceed without longtime Producer Roger Dobkowitz at the helm.
- Kathy Greco is assuming the role of Producer. Additional duties will be divided between Co-Producers Stan Blits and Sue MacIntyre, and Associate Producer Adam Sandler.
- The Price is Right will be broadcast in High Definition.
- A new pricing game, "Gas Money," is tentatively scheduled to premiere on the first show of the new Season. The game is the final game created by longtime Producer Roger Dobkowitz.
- A video wall is being integrated into the show beginning the first week of tapings.
- The SECOND week of the new season will begin taping July 20th. The FIRST week of the new season will begin taping July 28th.
- The Sunday tapings scheduled in July and August are done because of Drew's schedule. This is not a permanent change.
